BEFORE THE HURRICANE:
Decrease water level, but DO
NOT drain your pool. Lower water approximately
2-3 inches (never below skimmer) to accommodate heavy rains.
The pool water will protect the finish of your pool from
flying debris.
Turn off all electrical power to the pool
equipment (pump, motor, lighting, chlorinators, etc.).
If your filter pump is in an unsheltered
area, wrap it with a waterproof membrane and tie it securely
in place. This will prevent sand and driving water from
entering the motor.
Remove all loose items from pool area. It
is not advised to place patio furniture or accessories into
the pool.
Add extra chlorine to the pool, this will
prevent contamination.
AFTER THE HURRICANE:
Remove all debris from the pool with a leaf
rake before turning on pool equipment, debris left in pool
may stain the finish.
Remove any wrapping around pump motor. Wait
several hours to allow any condensation to dry up before
turning on electricity.
IF PUMP IS FLOODED
Call Twin Lakes' Service Department for instructions at
434-5700.
Super chlorinate the pool and balance pH.
Run filter until water is crystal clear
and resume normal pool operation.
